Are your shows all ages?
Yes, basically. iO is an all ages venue, but we usually advise that given the improvised nature of our content, our shows are typically rated PG-13 and up. Certain shows are more suitable for younger audiences, so feel free to call our box office and get some recommendations for younger guests.
Where can I park?
Can I eat and drink at iO?
Yes! Our kitchen and bar open at 6pm Wed-Sun. You can enjoy food and beverages in our main bar area, or order from your server and eat and dine while you watch a show. Basically, you can eat and drink wherever you want. No outside food or beverage allowed.
Can I host a party or event at iO?
Absolutely! You can find out more about all theaters and event spaces on the Events tab of our website.

Is Tim Robinson going to be there?
Maybe! We’ve got tons of famous alumni from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to Jason Sudeikis, Tim Meadows, and that one guy you love from the Office! You never know when one our famous alumni will pop up at the bar or swing by for a show
How can I perform at iO?
The best path towards getting on stage at iO is by going through our training center program. We’ve got lots of opportunities for students to perform each week, and it’s a great way to make friends and find other folks to perform with. We’ll also notify you of any upcoming audition notices for house teams or other productions here.
But if you’ve got an idea for a show that you can’t wait to tell us about, then you can also submit that here.
Is your venue ADA compliant?
Yes, our venue is fully accessible by ramp and elevator.
What time are the shows?
Shows typically start at 7:30 and 9pm on weeknights and then 8pm and 10pm on Friday and Saturday. See the specific show page for details.
How do I stay up to date on everthing going on over there?

I'm the funniest guy at the office, should I take an improv class?

iO is a five minute walk from the North/Clybourn Red Line and just two minutes from the 72 North Ave Bus. Limited free street parking is available nearby and several pay-to-park lots are located within one block.
