The touring version of the film/theater/sound amalgamation we created 12 years ago on a Greyhound bus is making its debut in Los Angeles at the Olympic Improv West. This will be 55 minutes in legnth and, as always, will start promptly (we have no choice). Just like real life there is violence and foul language involved, but if your childhood was shaken (NOT STIRRED) you should be fine. One night only! Wear a diaper. Bring your mother!
Test Market (NYSE: TSTMRKT) is a live performance art piece that incorporates time coding, minimalism, and absurd theater. Each show is formulated and prepared with no regard for audience reaction. The set is constructed through sound, and the sound is pre-recorded in “real time.” This recording is played back during the live performance. Everything is automated except the actors so it is crucial that they know the work verbatim as well as the timing and delivery of each line in order to match what is happening in the panorama of sound. A syllable of error means that the entire performance falls apart.
