The Yannis Pappas Show Starring Maurica has taken NYC by storm. This stand up comedy/variety show hosted by Maurica herself has sold out multiple runs at the famous Carolines on Broadway with over 10,000 tickets sold. Now, Maurica is coming to LA this September, 2012. This is one stop on a nation-wide tour with dates in NY, Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Phoenix, and San Francisco.
Comedian Yannis Pappas’ character Maurica, the sassy Puerto Rican transexual from the Lower East Side of Manhattan who is looking to find a man and move to the suburbs, has become an internet sensation. Maurica’s videos have close to 5 million views and counting and list many celebrities as huge fans.
Ditch Films, spearheaded by director Jesse Scaturro and comedian Yannis Pappas created and produced the Yannis Pappas Show Starring Maurica to bring Yannis and his character Maurica closer to their fans. The response has been tremendous and the audience reviews have been nothing less than fantastic.
