Get Shorty: A Night of Short Movies
It’s movie night and YOU’RE the STAR!!!
Get Shorty: A Night of Short Movies is a chance for YOU to live premiere your web series, short film, music or sketch comedy video for your friends, family and industry guests!! Come dressed to impress as the paparazzi will definitely make an appearance!
Send your submissions to Jodi Jett at firstname.lastname@example.org, (due 1 week before the monthly premiere.)
See you there!
December Show: Thursday, December 19th at 8pm (submissions due December 12th at 11:59pm)
Red Carpet and Drink Specials at 7pm
Hosted by: Jodi Jett and Gian Molina
RULES FOR SUBMISSION:
1) Please submit LINKS to videos (youtube, vimeo, funnyordie, etc), not the actual files (Though we may ask for a file if your film is selected!) to email@example.com
2) Please only submit if you plan to ATTEND the Show and Red Carpet event as well as PROMOTE the show and invite your friends, family (AND ANYONE ELSE WHO MIGHT GIVE A CRAP)
3) Maximum LENGTH is 10 minutes. That being said, it should only be as long as it needs to be to get the job done, right??
4) What we look for: a) ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR (most important)—Whether it’s comedic, dramatic or dramedy, do I want to keep watching to find out what happens?
b) QUALITY OF AUDIO AND VISUAL—You don’t have to have the best camera or top of the line microphones, though. The video should be stable (Sorry “Blair Witch Project” spin-offs—I vomit at these type of films) and I should be able to hear what’s happening without having to turn my speakers all the way up. If you aren’t sure how to get the best audio or set up the best lighting, go to this guy’s blog and it’s probably there, plus much more about filmmaking: Click Here!
c) OTHER: Is there a story arc that makes sense and does the story go anywhere? Is the video the right length for the story? And other fancy stuff.
Of course, feel free to be not confined by the rules of this oppressive society and just break ‘em! We’ll probably love that even more!
Can’t wait to see your shorts!!
Thursday, December 19 @ 08:00 PM in the Main Stage - tickets are $5 (FREE for iO students)
