iO West Inclusion Program

Hello, and welcome to the iO West Inclusion Program!

We think diversity and inclusion are essential parts of great improv. We’re always working to increase the diversity of our students, performers and faculty to more closely reflect the population of the city we entertain – Los Angeles! Our program aims to provide classroom opportunities to underrepresented groups and create a truly welcoming theatre community.

The iO West Inclusion Program includes:

  • Student Scholarships
  • Workshops
  • Special Events

Are you aware of the social justice scene in your community? Are you down with the historical fight against prejudice? Then let’s help you stay woke, my friend! In this workshop, we’ll be exploring how each of us unconsciously perpetuates our own biases when we perform. Topics like white supremacy, sexism, ageism, homophobia, and others will be discussed. This workshop requires an open mind and a healthy desire to read personally challenging material. Not for the faint of heart! All demographics are welcome, but students should already be familiar with improv basics.
