The Deltones

The Improvised Musical

The Improvised Musical features all the elements of a big time Broadway musical – huge group numbers, larger than life characters, tight harmonies, dynamic choreography. But what makes this show so special is that every line, every note, every step is completely improvised- made up right there on the spot. After getting a suggestion if the form of a title for a musical never before made, the incredibly talented cast and equally impressive pianist explode into a flurry of song, dance and comedy that defies both expectation belief.

Whirled News Tonight

Whirled News Tonight

In Whirled News Tonight, audience members provide the inspiration for an evening of improvised comedy by clipping articles from that day’s newspapers. From these journalistic suggestions, a team of experienced improvisers creates a fast-paced, topical, intelligent and above all hilarious show. Equal parts political satire, news parody and social commentary , Whirled News Tonight is improvisation for the Wall Street Journal set; a production just as sure to spark debate as it is to tickle the funny bone.

“Uncommonly Witty” – Time Out Chicago
“This is a brainy, quick-witted group” – Chicago Tribune

Cook County Social Club

Cook County Social Club

Lightning-fast, uncommonly brilliant, and undeniably hilarious, Cook County Social Club is improvisation that defies hyperbole. Starring five of Chicago’s most electric improviers, CCSC has earned critical acclaim from national press outlets, and a reputation for mind-blowing shows. Their smash appearances at festivals such as TBS’ Just For Laughs and the Dirty South Comedy Festival have served notice: The Cook County Social Club is exploding onto the national scene.

“Easily the best act I’ve ever seen” – Charleston City Paper
“Some of the flat out funniest moments we’ve ever seen” – Time Out Chicago

TJ & Dave

TJ & Dave

A never before seen one-act play, composed on the spot, created by two of the greatest improvisers of all time. Imaginative, witty, shocking, transcendant. Too much to ask? Not for TJ & Dave. TJ Jagodowski and David Pasquesi have been doing that week in, week out at iO’s legendary Chicago theater. For years the only way to see this masterstroke of improvised genius was to be lucky enough to score a seat at their late night show in Chicago. At long last, they’re bringing it to the masses.

“Enormously funny” – New York Times
“A boldly imaginative high-wire act” – Gothamist

Shotts & Doyle

Inspired, brilliant two-person improv from real-life couple Colleen Doyle and Jason Shotts.

For years T.J. Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi have reigned as Chicago’s must-see two-person improv team. After catching a recent set from Colleen Doyle and Jason Shotts at iO Theater, I think it’s safe to say there’s room on that improv pedestal for yet another pair of performers. " – Chicago Tribune
