Chicago’s longest running improvised comedy show, “The Armando Diaz Theatrical Experience Movement & Hootenanny”, aka, “The Armando Diaz Experience”, welcomes special guest monologist, Will Clinger!
Will Clinger is probably best known as the host and segment producer of Wild Chicago, a television program that looked at the offbeat side of the city and aired on WTTW/Channel 11. His work on the show earned him fourteen Midwest Emmy awards. Will is currently producing and hosting the Emmy-winning travel series Wild Travels (wildtravelstv.com), now shooting its third season. He has produced and hosted several documentaries for Channel 11: Vanishing Act – Memories of Vaudeville, Lost and Found – Chicago’s Offshore Treasures, The Bleacher Bums – Rabid Fans of Wrigley Field, and The Legend of Del Close, the first two of which also received Midwest Emmys.
The Armando Diaz Experience is a two-act “long-form” improvised show in which a monologist tells personal stories that provides the inspiration for the resulting scenes by that night’s cast. Each Monday night the cast features some of the very best improvisers in Chicago alongside special guest celebrity monologuists.
Founded by Adam McKay (SNL, Anchorman, Talladega Nights), Dave Koechner (Anchorman, Thank You For Smoking, SNL) and Del Close (iO co-founder) The Armando Diaz Experience is iO’s longest running show and a landmark of comedy in Chicago.
