Warren Phynix Johnson

Warren Phynix Johnson, is a native of Chicago’s South Side and has worked in entertainment since 1996, receiving his first paycheck for a play while still in elementary school. In that time he’s performed plays written by such greats as Shakespeare, Charles Mee and Langston Hughes, portraying a wide range of characters, such as military personnel, a lawyer, a doctor, a carpenter and even a psycho African pirate; but has found most success in comedic acting.

He’s graduated from improv programs, at iO Chicago, ComedySportz Chicago and The Second City. Some of his favorite recent credits include: The Second City’s National Touring Company, RedCo.; The Second City(Theatrical) revue; “The Second City Does Baltimore”; also three shows with “The Second City’s Outreach and Diversity” ensemble. As well as: Cocktail Hour at ComedySportz Chicago; “BLACKOUT presents: White People” at iO Chicago; “BLACKOUT presents: Radio” on the NPR affiliate 89.5 fm: Vocalo.org; and iO Chicago Harold Teams.

He’s hosted Chicago Public Schools’ very own television series, CPS RIGHT NOW. He was an ensemble member in McDonald’s Corp’s only traveling improv show: America’s Next Success Story, he’s also been in a few Comcast SportsNet commercials and McDonald’s internet commercials.
